How To: Performing Workopia’s Recommended Post CRM Outlook Client Installation Check and Applying Initial CRM Outlook Client Settings

The following step by step instructions with screen shots show how to perform Workopia’s recommended post CRM Outlook Client installation check (Part A) and applying initial CRM Outlook Client settings (Part B):

 

Part A: Post Microsoft CRM Outlook Client installation check

 

  1. Run the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Office Client Diagnostics after completing the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Outlook Client installation:

 

 

  1. Click the “Run Diagnostics” button:

Note: It may take a few seconds for the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Office Client Diagnostics to start running.

 

 

  1. Click the “Fix All” button if presented and then press the “Close” button.

Note: If any update is available, please apply the update.  A reboot may be required

 

 

 

 

Part B: Initial Microsoft CRM Outlook Client settings

 

  1. Launch the Microsoft CRM Outlook Client.  Click the “Options…” menu item from the CRM Menu list:

 

 

  1. On the “General” tab.  Set “Records Per Page” to 25.  Set “Advanced Find Mode” to Detailed.  Set “Currency” to your default Currency (i.e. US Dollar).  Confirm that “Always run the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Application Host process” is checked:

 

 

  1. On the “Synchronization” tab.  Uncheck the “Synchronize the CRM items in my Outlook folders every”:

 

 

  1. On the “E-mail” tab.  Check “Allow Microsoft Dynamics CRM to send e-mail using CRM for Outlook”:

 

 

  1. On the “Address Book” tab.  Check “Match all contacts in Microsoft Dynamics CRM” and Check “Match all items in Microsoft Dynamics CRM”.  Click the “OK” button to save the settings:

 

 

That completes the initial setup, please check with your CRM Administrator on available Microsoft CRM training for end users.
